Who it fits

Key specs explained

1920x1080 Resolution

This Full HD resolution provides sharp text and clear images on a 15.6-inch screen. You will see distinct details without pixelation, which is essential for reading documents or coding. It offers a comfortable viewing density for most users, balancing clarity with performance requirements. This standard resolution is widely supported across laptops and gaming consoles, ensuring broad compatibility for your daily tasks.

IPS Panel Type

IPS technology ensures consistent color accuracy and wide viewing angles. You can view the screen from the side without colors washing out or shifting. This is critical for collaborative work or casual media consumption. Compared to TN panels, IPS delivers more natural visuals. It makes the monitor suitable for creative work and general productivity where color fidelity matters.

100% sRGB Color Gamut

This specification indicates the monitor covers the full standard sRGB color space. You will see vibrant, accurate colors for web browsing, photo editing, and streaming video. It ensures that what you see matches standard digital content expectations. This is a significant advantage over budget monitors with lower gamut coverage, which may appear dull or inaccurate for media and design tasks.

1.4 pounds Weight

Weighing just 1.4 pounds, this portable monitor is highly lightweight for travel. You can easily carry it in a laptop bag without adding significant burden. This low weight is ideal for digital nomads, students, and remote workers who move frequently. It allows for quick setup in cafes, hotels, or co-working spaces, enhancing mobility without sacrificing screen real estate.

Design and build details

According to the listing, this AYY monitor weighs 1.4 pounds and measures 0.35 inches thick. These dimensions make it easy to slip into a laptop bag. The Jet Black finish is available in multiple size variations, including 14-inch and 16-inch options. The unit’s physical footprint is 13.5 inches wide by 8.5 inches tall. This compact form factor supports its role as a travel companion for remote workers or students who need a secondary screen on the go.

The device includes a magnetic leather smart cover that doubles as a stand. This feature allows you to prop the monitor at various angles for typing or viewing. The cover also protects the IPS panel from scratches when not in use. You can also mount the screen using the standard 75x75mm VESA holes on the back. This option helps save desk space by attaching the monitor to a wall or arm.

Audio output comes from two built-in 1W speakers. You can also connect external headphones via the 3.5mm jack. The control layout relies on the included Mini HDMI cable and USB-C connection. This setup minimizes clutter by delivering power and video through a single cable on compatible devices. The design prioritizes portability and flexible placement over complex hardware controls.

Setup and daily use guide

You can connect this monitor using a single USB-C cable or an HDMI cable. The full-featured USB-C port delivers power, video, and audio simultaneously. This allows for a clutter-free setup without needing a separate power adapter. You can connect it to modern laptops, Android phones, and iPhones. Older iPhone models require an adapter and external power for stable display. For gaming consoles like PS5 or Xbox, you should use the included Mini HDMI cable. The monitor supports both extending your desktop and mirroring your screen. You can use the extended mode for multitasking, such as coding or reading PDFs while browsing. The 170-degree viewing angle keeps the image clear from most positions. The included magnetic smart cover doubles as a stand. It adjusts to multiple angles for typing or watching content. The matte anti-glare coating helps reduce reflections in bright environments. Built-in dual speakers provide audio, or you can use the 3.5mm jack for headphones. The 75x75mm VESA mount allows you to attach the screen to a wall or arm. This saves desk space. The 100% sRGB color gamut ensures accurate colors for work or media. The eye-care technology reduces blue light and flicker to support longer sessions. The 60Hz refresh rate is standard for general use. You can carry the 1.4-pound device easily in a bag. The smart cover protects the screen from scratches when not in use. This setup is ideal for remote workers and travelers who need a second screen.

Before You Buy This Monitor

You should verify your device’s USB-C capabilities before purchasing. Older iPhone models require an adapter and external power for stable display output. Android phones also need specific compatibility for video out. If you plan to use this with a PS5 or Xbox, you must use the included Mini HDMI cable, as USB-C is not listed for those consoles. The monitor includes dual speakers, but you may want to connect headphones via the 3.5mm jack for better audio clarity during gaming or meetings. The magnetic smart cover doubles as a stand, so you do not need a separate lap desk. Keep the screen clean with a microfiber cloth to maintain the matte anti-glare coating. This model fits well alongside other 15-inch options if you prioritize a single-cable setup for laptops. It is less suitable if you need high refresh rates, as it is capped at 60Hz. Check your laptop’s ports to ensure you have the right cables ready.

Check before you buy

• Confirm your laptop supports USB-C video and power output
• Check if your phone needs an adapter for display out
• Ensure you have a Mini HDMI cable for console gaming
• Verify your desk space fits the 13.5-inch width
