AYY vs EVICIV Monitor Comparison
Resolution and clarity
The EVICIV portable monitor offers a significant jump in pixel density with its 16-inch 3840x2400 UHD display. This provides sharper text and more detailed imagery compared to the AYY 15.6-inch model, which sticks to a standard 1920x1080 FHD resolution. If you need crisp visuals for photo editing, reading dense documents, or playing high-fidelity games, the EVICIV’s 4K panel is the superior choice. The AYY screen is sufficient for basic tasks, but the EVICIV delivers noticeably finer detail across the larger screen area.
Brightness and visibility
EVICIV specifies a brightness level of 1200 nits, which is exceptionally high for a portable display. This allows the screen to remain visible even in bright indoor lighting or direct sunlight, aided by its matte anti-glare finish. The AYY monitor does not list a specific nit rating in its published specifications. While it includes a matte coating to reduce reflections, the lack of stated brightness data makes it harder to judge its performance in challenging lighting conditions compared to the EVICIV’s confirmed high-lumen output.
Connectivity options
AYY provides more versatile connection choices by including both USB-C and HDMI ports. This allows you to connect to older laptops, gaming consoles like PS5 or Xbox, or devices that lack USB-C video output without needing extra adapters. EVICIV lists only USB-C connectivity in its key specs. While USB-C is convenient for modern devices, the absence of an HDMI port on the EVICIV means you may need dongles or specific cables to connect to a wider range of computers and external hardware.
Color accuracy and gamut
The EVICIV monitor boasts a 145% sRGB color gamut, which suggests it can display a wider range of colors than the standard sRGB space. This is beneficial for creative work where color vibrancy matters. The AYY monitor covers 100% sRGB, which is the standard baseline for accurate color reproduction on most content. Both panels use IPS technology for good viewing angles. However, the EVICIV’s wider gamut specification gives it an edge for users who need to view or edit media that utilizes colors beyond the standard spectrum.
Build and portability
Both monitors are designed for travel, but they differ slightly in weight and materials. The AYY model weighs 1.4 pounds and includes a magnetic leather smart cover that doubles as a stand. It also features built-in dual speakers for immediate audio use. The EVICIV is heavier at 1.8 pounds and features a premium aluminum body. While the EVICIV feels more robust, the AYY is lighter and more complete out of the box with its cover and speakers, making it slightly easier to carry and set up quickly without extra accessories.
Which portable monitor fits your workflow
Outdoor workers needing bright screens
The EVICIV delivers 1200 nits of brightness with a matte anti-glare finish. This specification ensures clear visibility even in direct sunlight or bright outdoor environments. The 16-inch 3840x2400 UHD resolution provides sharp details. You get superior color accuracy with 145% sRGB coverage. The aluminum body adds durability for travel. This setup handles bright conditions better than standard glossy panels.
Gamers using consoles like PS5
The AYY includes a Mini HDMI cable, which is essential for connecting gaming consoles like PS5 or Xbox. It also features built-in dual speakers for immediate audio output. The 15.6-inch 1080p IPS panel offers 170-degree viewing angles. You can extend your desktop or duplicate your screen easily. The magnetic smart cover transforms into a stand, making it a complete portable gaming solution.
Travelers wanting lightweight portability
Weighing only 1.4 pounds, the AYY is lighter than the 1.8-pound EVICIV. Its ultra-thin 9mm profile fits easily into bags. The included magnetic leather smart cover protects the screen and acts as a stand. This all-in-one design reduces the need for extra accessories. You get a clutter-free setup with single-cable USB-C power and video transmission, ideal for digital nomads.
