Who it fits
Good fit for
You should consider this cooler if you own a heavy 17-inch or 19-inch gaming laptop, such as an Alienware or MSI Titan. The sealed foam design works best with machines that draw air from the bottom. The three tilt settings help reduce neck strain during long gaming marathons. If you want to keep your laptop cool without relying on its internal fans alone, this dedicated power source ensures consistent performance. The USB hub is also useful for connecting peripherals without using your laptop's limited ports.
Who should skip it
Skip this product if you have a thin 13-inch or 14-inch ultrabook. The cooler is built for 15.6 to 19-inch devices, so it will not fit smaller screens properly. You should also avoid it if you need a portable, battery-free solution. The unit requires a dedicated 36W wall adapter, so you cannot run it on the go or from a laptop USB port. If you dislike software controls, note that the smart modes require the Myth.cool app, though you can switch to manual mode using the built-in scroller.
Verdict: The Llano V12 Ultra is a robust cooling solution for large, high-performance gaming laptops that need dedicated, pressurized airflow. Its sealed design and wall power make it ideal for stationary desk setups where maximum cooling is required.
Llano Cooler Key Specs Explained
Fan Diameter: 5.5"
This size fits the base of most large gaming laptops. A 5.5-inch fan covers a significant surface area, allowing for broader airflow distribution. You get consistent cooling across the center and edges of your device. This is larger than standard 120mm fans found in basic pads. It helps manage heat in high-performance machines that generate substantial thermal output during long sessions.
Maximum Fan Speed: 2800 RPM
This speed indicates how fast the fan blades rotate per minute. Higher RPMs generally move more air, which helps dissipate heat quickly from your laptop's internal components. You benefit from faster temperature drops during intense gaming or rendering tasks. Compare this to lower speeds that may struggle with heavy loads. This level of rotation supports the sealed design’s pressurized airflow for efficient cooling.
Compatible Laptop Size: 15.6-19 Inch
This range ensures the cooler supports large gaming and workstation laptops. You can use it with devices like the Alienware or MSI Titan series without overhang issues. Smaller ultrabooks might not align properly with the fan or seal. This specification is critical for buyers with bulky rigs. It guarantees structural support and proper airflow alignment for machines that require robust thermal management solutions.
USB Port Count: 3
The unit includes three USB ports, likely USB 3.0 based on typical hub designs. You can connect peripherals like a mouse, keyboard, or external drive directly to the cooler. This reduces cable clutter on your desk. Check if the hub supports data transfer or just power. It adds convenience for users who want a centralized connection point for their gaming accessories while keeping their laptop ports free.
Height Adjustment Levels: 3
Three tilt options allow you to customize your viewing angle. You can reduce neck strain by elevating the screen slightly. This ergonomic feature improves comfort during extended work or gaming marathons. Compare this to fixed-height pads that offer no adjustability. Proper angle selection helps maintain better posture. It also aids in airflow by lifting the laptop slightly for better ventilation underneath.
Design and build details
The listing describes the Llano V12 Ultra as a sealed laptop cooler built for 15.6 to 19-inch devices. It measures 16.9 inches in length and 13 inches in width, with a height of 2.76 inches. The unit weighs 3.96 pounds. Its substantial size accommodates large gaming laptops, including models from Alienware and MSI. The black finish provides a neutral look that blends with most setups. The sealed design uses a memory-foam edge to direct airflow efficiently.
You control the cooling via a built-in scroller or the Myth.cool software. Three smart modes adjust fan speed based on workload. The fan itself is 5.5 inches in diameter and spins up to 2800 RPM. This high speed pushes air through the sealed chamber to cool the bottom intake. The package includes a 36W power adapter, ensuring the fan runs at full capacity without draining your laptop’s battery. A USB-A to C cable enables the 1-in-3 USB 3.0 hub, allowing you to connect peripherals like a mouse or drive.
Ergonomics are addressed through three adjustable height settings: 15, 12, and 3 degrees. These angles help reduce neck and shoulder strain during long sessions. A removable dust filter traps debris to maintain airflow. The filter requires no tools for removal or cleaning. RGB lighting offers four effects and five colors. According to the listing, the sturdy foot stand ensures stability on your desk. This layout supports both gaming and extended work hours by combining robust cooling with comfortable viewing angles.
Setup and daily operation guide
You set up this cooler by connecting the included 36W power adapter to the unit. This dedicated wall power ensures the turbo fan runs at its maximum 2800 RPM without draining your laptop battery. You also connect the USB-A to C data cable to activate the 1-in-3 USB 3.0 hub, which supports 5Gbps data transfer for peripherals like mice or drives. The package includes a memory foam seal that you place around the base of your laptop to create the sealed chamber. You position your 15.6 to 19-inch laptop on the pad, ensuring it aligns with the 5.5-inch fan. You can adjust the viewing angle using the three height settings, which offer 15, 12, and 3-degree tilts. This helps you find a comfortable posture for typing or gaming. For software control, you visit the support page to download the Myth.cool application. This allows you to select from Low, Medium, or High modes for intelligent temperature management. Alternatively, you can use the built-in scroller for manual adjustments. The RGB lighting offers five colors and four effects. Daily maintenance involves removing the detachable dust mesh filter to clean it, which helps maintain consistent airflow. The sturdy adjustable foot stand keeps the unit stable during use. This setup is designed for large, high-performance gaming laptops, providing robust cooling for extended sessions.
Before You Buy This Cooler
This Llano V12 Ultra is a heavy-duty accessory for large gaming laptops, not a portable monitor. You must verify your laptop fits the 15.6 to 19-inch range. The sealed design requires a flat bottom surface to maintain the memory-foam seal. Check that your desk has space for its 16.9 by 13-inch footprint. You will need a nearby wall outlet for the 36W adapter, as it does not draw power from your computer. Regular cleaning of the removable dust filter is essential to keep airflow strong. This cooler sits alongside laptop stands and portable displays in your setup. It manages heat so your screen stays bright and your CPU does not throttle. Ensure your USB ports can handle the 3-port hub if you plan to connect peripherals. It is a stationary solution for high-performance rigs, not a travel companion.
Check before you buy
- Confirm your laptop is between 15.6 and 19 inches wide.
- Check for a nearby wall outlet for the 36W adapter.
- Ensure your desk has space for the 16.9-inch base.
- Verify your USB ports support the 3-port hub expansion.
